Meta is launching a VR gaming subscription service called Meta Quest+
Meta has launched a new VR subscription service called Meta Quest+. By becoming a Meta Quest+ user, you'll receive two new games each month, selected by the company's team.

All games you receive, while subscribed, will be stored in your library for future use. If you choose to suspend your subscription temporarily and then reactivate it later, all your saved games will still be available, waiting for you.

For July, the featured games are Pistol Whip and Pixel Ripped 1995, which you will get the day you subscribe, with Walkabout Mini Golf and MOTHERGUNSHIP: FORGE expected as the following additions in August.

The main goal of the Meta Quest+ subscription is to provide users with ample playtime while reducing the time spent browsing through the extensive Meta Quest catalog.

The subscription fee for Meta Quest+ is $7.99 per month or $59.99 for a whole year. Opting for the yearly subscription actually saves you more than 30% compared to the monthly option.

Until the end of July, Meta is running a special offer where you pay only $1 for the first month of the subscription. This offer may appeal to both VR gamers and those interested in becoming one. The latter group should know that the Meta Quest headsets are priced between $299 and $999, depending on the model.

To play, you'll need a Meta Quest Pro or Meta Quest 2 VR headset– the latter being one of the best VR headsets available now. The Meta Quest+ subscription is also compatible with the upcoming Quest 3, expected later this fall.

Paid subscriptions might be a significant revenue source for the company, allowing Meta to monetize its VR content and products. Meta might need to step up its game, especially considering the competition from Apple and its Vision Pro headset. Although Apple's Vision Pro is considerably more expensive with its $3500 price, it brings state-of-the-art technology and additional benefits to the table.
