5 years think of a phone

Phone owned for more than a year

I have used it from 2013 feel it good at that time. Now, it doesn't feel like any flagship.Poor battery: I only use about 3 hours then I have to charge in and wait for 5 hours it "drink" battery more than water .The UI design is look like Google too much, it make me feel boring so I have to use the Launcher, they left people at Android 5.1.1. Camera not the best of it. And the chipset is too old for now it can do good at some game and web.(Sorry for my bad English)

Disappointed

Phone owned for more than a year

I was so hyped when I had an opportunity to buy an Xperia Z. I'd seen the pictures and read the reviews and drooled at the possibility of getting one in my hands! I was using an LG Optimus G and was bummed I couldn't use my 64 GB SD card. I couldn't wait!
So I sold my Optimus and went down to buy my new Sony! I picked it up and had it unlocked right away. As soon as I hooked it up to Wifi so I could get the Lollipop update. I was grateful there was an update because the phone got excruciatingly hot to use. Certainly the new update would stop that.
Nope! Well, at least not entirely. It still got hot, and was generally laggy. I downloaded a task killer app to help but the phone was constantly doing weird stuff in the background. The camera is great for stills, but sometimes, shooting vids at close range the focus constantly readjusts itself.
I really wanted to love this phone, but my disappointment was almost palpable. So, I went shopping for a different phone. Bought an Acer Liquid Z630 and haven't looked back. It has outperformed my Z in every aspect.
Now it's even worse. I gave it to my kid as a gift, and we went to the beach with it. Shot some pics and vids. Somehow, water must've gotten into it and now the speaker and notification light quit working. So much for waterproofing.
It, unfortunately, has soured my respect for Sony products. I would have to really be convinced to buy another Sony phone.

Phone owned for less than a year

I had this phone for 7 months, and the only word that can describe this experience is: SWEET!
Even tough the Specs weren't that great.. I enjoyed using it as my daily driver from August 2014 til March 2015, When it BROKE, SMASHED!!!

Strong and Efficient

Phone owned for more than a year

I've dropped this phone a hundred times, yet not a single scratch. It's incredibly amazing how it functions on the software context. Hardware lacks some effort: Camera and Speaker. Although this is the best phone I've ever had and I'm sorry I have to buy another one because of the two most important things according to me. I've never been eager to play games and run huge and cheesy applications, but for anything else it has been a savior!

I wish I'd chosen another phone

Phone owned for more than a year

On the surface excellent specifications, but has many flaws. I can't bring myself to get another Sony now as I don't trust the glitz will last. For a company that built their reputation on media devices this is distinctly average in terms of sound and vision.

Nearly 3 years old and still going strong

Phone owned for more than a year

What a great phone, I jumped from an iphone 4 all them years ago and havent looked back. It awesome that it is still getting supported by Sony. Now rocking 5.1.1 and probably since 4.2 the best version since then! Sony fixed the bugs that were in 5.0.2! I will probably hold on to this phone until next year and upgrade to the Z5 compact next. This phone has been money well spent!

The Xperia Z

Phone owned for less than a year

Moderate price, pretty nice specification and water resistant , awesome hardware under the hood ;) plus android support and camera
Makes The "Xperia Z" a dream device since 2013
Just look at the votes and fans, there is no doubt that it's enough good to stand in second place between all user rated phones.
I love my device very much

Good phone

Phone owned for less than a year

Good daily driver. Heats up during prolonged web browsing or gaming however. Battery could be better but lasts about a day with moderate usage. Doesn't lag or stutter much and handles most things thrown at it (not literally). I got it pretty cheap so I'm happy with it.

Addition

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I have almost every Xperia smartphone. I have the Z2, Z1, Z1 Compact, Z3 compact, etc. I would say that the Xperia Z performs the best out of all of them. The Z2 heats up sometimes, the Z1 is just a messed up Z2, but the Z, on android 4.4.4 is beautiful. I really like this phone.

I dont care, I love it

Phone owned for less than a year

This phone is better than every Xperia phone. EVER. Its better than the Z2, Z1, Z Ultra, etc. Hopefully Sony's Xperia Z4 or Z5 will be more like the Xperia Z because that phone is beautiful. I would give it 11/10 if I could.

With 4.4.4, this phone is a beast

Phone owned for more than a year

This phone is excellent. Sleek, beautiful, fast, etc. It offers so much that most smartphones dont. Everyone is going and buying samsungs or htcs, but im all sony because of the xperia z. Soon the xperia z will be an old phone, so I will probably replace it with the sony xperia z4 in the future.

Sony Xperia Z

Phone owned for less than a year

I love this phone. I honestly think its better than my S4. I used it for about a week because my S4 was for repairs from water damage. Anyways, having lent this phone, I loved it. I felt that the S4 was nothing compared to this phone. So when I got my S4 back I replaced it with an Xperia Z. I use this phone as my daily driver and hope to buy a 6" smartphone from sony. The Z ultra is good, but the Xperia Z offers more.

Reason why I went Android to Apple

Phone owned for less than a year

This phone, the S4 and HTC One in that order. Because of these phones, mainly the Xperia Z, I went from Apple to Android. I thought Apple was the best and everything. Then I saw this phone, and how its specs were very good. I really wanted this phone and gave it a try. And I love it! I will never sell this phone!

Otima compra

Phone owned for less than a year

Good looks - Very poor quality

Phone owned for more than a year

After performing well about a year (over the warranty period) my Xperia z has developped a large number of problems.
Responsiveness has fallen from the roof. On touching the screen, it takes up to 3 or 4 seconds for the phone to react, as if periodically frozen. Same goes for the camera, don't expect to take a picture in less than 20 secondes.
Calls are failling to connect on a daily basis, numbers are not being dialled, and more importantly, speakers stop working mid-calls on a daily basis, leaving you with no choice but to reboot your phone.
GPS is causing huge battery loss. If you use google map, on getting out of the app, the gps will not stop working and will drain the battery entirely in matter of hours (uneless you reboot the phone)
Sony products seem to be getting worst and worst every year. A once great brand now doing overpriced junk products that look good but fail to perform.
I recommend you not to trust the opinion of other reviewers still in the honeymoon phase with their Xperia. Listen to people who had it for a year. They will probably tell you there is not a day they don't wish they could smash it with a hammer.
Terrible product. To avoid. Now a Sony classic sadly.

CHEATED CUSTOMER OF SONY XPERIA Z

Phone owned for less than a year

I bought new Sony Xperia Z on 1st Feb 2014 by paying Rs 30,000 from my hard earned money; thinking it is one of the best phones, but I was wrong. I was promised in writing the following:

1. 6 months warranty (as in all the phones)
2. 6 months accidental coverage - wherein Sony promised that all types of accidental coverage will be provided
3. Sony Xperia Z is a water resistant phone; meaning provided all the ports are closed, the phone can resist direct water contact (cannot be submerged in water)

Just 4 months down, the “unlock button” of phone started giving problems. I went to the Sony service center at Malad (East) on 14th July 2014. They made me wait for 4 hours (no exaggeration) before they checked my phone. They took my phone to another room for 10 min, and then he came to me saying the phone has got water damage. I was shocked to hear that and again clarified that the touch and everything else is working perfectly; only the lock button is having problem. He showed the color of the litmus paper change on the flaps of the charging point and the head phones point. As my phone is covered under accidental warranty, he asked me to fill the form describing the details of accident which never happened.

After 1 week of waiting, I finally call up myself on 21st July to know that the “warranty” as well as “accidental warranty” is rejected and that I will have to pay for the repair. Frustrated after trying for long, I finally gave up and said OK to pay thinking I will pay Rs 2000-3000 max and get things sorted. After again waiting for 1 week and not receiving any call from Sony, I called up again. After finally following up again and again, they finally gave me the quote. And then came the shock of my life. SONY GAVE ME THE QUOTATION OF RS 28,000 for REPLACING THE OLD PHONE AS THE “MOTHERBOARD HAD GOT DAMAGED AND CANT BE REPAIRED”. I said only the lock button is not working. But they had only 1 thing to say - warranty is cancelled and you have to pay. I gave a call to Sony toll free no. to speak to Sony executive on 19th July 2014. By far, I had the worst experience with any product of any brand - local or International. They kept on asking for first 48 hrs to address the issue; even after agreeing that this is something that should be covered under accidental warranty which we had bought. Then next day on 28th July, after explaining the issue for the 3rd time to a 3rd person altogether, they transferred me to a senior executive who again asked 24 hrs with the promise that he himself will call back. By now, I obviously knew the false promises by Sony, so I knew he won’t call for sure. So by day end on 29th July, I called up again just to hear that it is still under process. Today on 30th, I got a call from Sony to hear that it won’t go ahead and that I will have to pay the said amount to get my phone repaired.

Sony has left me with no option but to go to the ‘Consumer Court’ and fight for the FRAUD
