Rumor: Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be the manufacturer's next flagship
How are you with those puzzles where you have to find words mixed up in a maze of letters? If you are good at these puzzles, you can make out the hint left by Xiaomi that on January 15th, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 phablet will be introduced as a faster, larger, lighter version of the first model, with improved sound. There is speculation that Xiaomi will introduce the phablet as its new flagship model.

The puzzle spells out words likeFaster, New, Sound, HiFi, Bigger, Lighter, Note S, Glass, Money and Larger. The phone is rumored to be priced in the neighborhood of $145-$160. That would be quite a neighborhood for a phone featuring these specs. This includes the expected 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The handset is powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 CPU, or the MediaTek MT6752 processor. 2GB of RAM is expected to be on board along with 16GB of native storage. The back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP and 5MP respectively, and a 3100mAh battery keeps the lights on. Android 4.4 is pre-installed with MIUI 6 running on top. The rumored curved glass back for the device is said to be protected by Gorilla Glass.

Another teaser released by Xiaomi appears to show a pair of hands in the classic smartphone grip position as approved by Steve Jobs for the Apple iPhone 4. That would seem to confirm that Xiaomi will introduce a pair of handsets on January 15th. It could be that one device will be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and perhaps the other will be either the Xiaomi Mi4S or Xiaomi Mi5. January 15th draws nearer. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the tip!
