Xiaomi Redmi Note 3: all the official images and the promo video
Xiaomi just announced an all-metal phone, the Redmi Note 3, with a beautiful polished aluminum body, and a fingerprint scanner on the back, also a first for the company. The fingerprint scanner is touted to be incredibly fast, with 0.3s recognition and unlock timing, so Xiaomi did well there, but it's the design that is the most striking new feat, as other than the metal chassis, the phone's internals are pretty much resembling the Redmi Note 2.
Despite the premium material for the body, the phone is barely heavier than its predecessor, though it is somewhat thicker, due to the fact that it is now housing a hearty 4000 mAh battery - something that used to be a trademark of Lenovo's phones so far.
The Redmi Note 3 will be available in gold, grey and silver hues, and will go for the equivalent of about $140 for the basic version with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage - not bad at all, considering that you are getting a 5.5" 1080p display, Helio X10 chipset, and a 13 MP camera with phase-detection autofocus.
