Alongside Motorola’s
Moto 360, the
LG G Watch is one of the first smartwatches that run Google’s new Android Wear. The G Watch might be available to buy starting July 7, and we’ll certainly hear more about it next week at
Google I/O (June 25 - 26). Until then, the LG G Watch reportedly made a brief appearance at Google Play Germany.
German
website AndroidPit has a few screenshots that show references to the LG G Watch, including the fact that it features an active display, and a 400 mAh battery. At the moment of this writing, however, Google Play Germany contains no info regarding the G Watch. Even so, this indicates that the device
may be available to purchase via Google Play (not just in Germany).
It’s said that the LG G Watch could cost around $200, which seems to be the maximum price that most users would pay for a smartwatch. The rumored features of the G Watch include a 1.65-inch display with 280 x 280 pixels, Bluetooth 4.0, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of internal memory. All these should be protected by a water-resistant body.
