Watch the Meizu MX5 announcement live stream here
Meizu proved its mettle last year with the excellent MX4 and MX4 Pro midrange and flagship offerings, then affirmed its value-for-money reputation with an affordable but well-spec'd M1 Note. This year, it has been up to good again, unleashing the M2 Note, again at a rock bottom price for what it's offering, and now all eyes are on today's unveiling of Meizu's next flagship - the MX5.
Meizu MX5 is said to come with a full metal jacket this time, in line with the times of premium handsets made of premium materials, and feature an upgraded processor, compared to the MX4 Pro, namely the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6975, coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The screen would likely stay a 5.5" 1080p endeavor, unless there is a Pro version released with a QHD panel, too.
While the amount of internal storage is not known, it will be expandable thanks to the included 128GB capacity microSD slot. A 20 MP rear camera should be on board, employing a Sony sensor, and a 3150mAh battery will reportedly keep the lights on. How many of these rumors will get confirmed today? Well, let's watch Meizu stream the MX5 unveiling event live below, and we'll know for sure.
The event starts at 5:30 am Eastern/11:30am Central European/3 PM India Standard Time.
