Vodafone employee leaks the launch date of the Apple iPhone 6s (UPDATE)
In the waning days of May 2014, Deutsche Telekom starting telling customers to expect the Apple iPhone 6 to be available for purchase on September 19th. As it turned out, that date was 100% correct. Now, an employee working for another European mobile operator has leaked the launch date of the next iteration of the iPhone.
A Vodafone employee sent an email to MobileNews stating that the next version of Apple's smartphone (rumored to be called the Apple iPhone 6s) will be available for purchase on September 25th. Pre-orders will be accepted starting on September 18th. Although it is likely, the Vodafone employee did not mention whether Apple will produce a sequel to the Apple iPhone 6 Plus phablet.
The new Apple iPhone is expected to include a 12MP rear-facing camera. That is the first increase in MP for the iPhone's rear snapper since the Apple iPhone 4s came with an 8MP camera. The Apple iPhone 4 employed a 5MP shooter. The new camera is expected to use a Sony sensor and will include a white sub-pixel to help it take quality shots in low light conditions.
As usual with a speculative report of this nature, we suggest that you take it with a grain of salt.

UPDATE: The Apple iPhone 6s will be unveiled on September 8th according to a report out of Greece. The report cites a person close to Apple as the source of the story. This doesn't change the information revealed by the Vodafone employee. Putting all of the leaks together, we could see the Apple iPhone 6s introduced on September 8th with pre-orders starting on September 18th. The phone would then start shipping on September 25th.
Thanks for the tip!

Also expected on the new iPhone is the use of Series 7000 aluminum. This aircraft grade material, currently used on the Apple Watch, is being used by Apple to put an end to #Bendgate. The 4.7-inch screen on the next iPhone will supposedly support Force Touch. Used on the Apple Watch, this feature allows the screen to measure how hard it is being tapped. This way, the user can open different applications and run different features depending on how hard he/she taps the display. In addition, the Taptic Engine used on the Apple Watch to "tap" the user on the wrist alerting him/her of a notification, is also rumored to be included with the new iPhone.
