Verizon to hold a news conference December 1st, detailing LTE rollout
Big Red announced that it will be hosting a news conference tomorrow, to detail and clarify how exactly the "world’s first large-scale 4G LTE network" will be deployed. The event starts at noon Eastern time, and will feature Tony Melone, the Senior VP and Chief Technical Officer of Verizon Wireless.
Verizon is supposed to launch its Long Term Evolution network in 38 metropolitan areas, covering more than 110 million people in December. This is a monstrous rollout, so we are glad that the carrier is taking its time to explain what will happen and take in some questions. The event can be followed on @VerizonWireless #VZW4G at http://twitter.com/VerizonWireless.
We'll keep an eye on the developments, and let you know if anything interesting comes out of it. LTE SIM cards are already hitting the stores, so we have the sneaking suspicion that nuggets about upcoming hardware might be spilled tomorrow as well.
