Upcoming iOS 8.2 update will add blood glucose monitoring and data point descriptions to Health
Apple fans, treat yourself to the smorgasbord of iOS 8.2 details and screenshots that got served on the Internet by 9to5mac! It looks like WatchKit and Apple Watch support are coming along full speed, while the Apple Health app is gaining back previously cut features in addition to some very welcome enhancements.
For what we know, Apple is bringing in a reworked blood glucose tracking engine, this time with an option to manually choose the measurement unit - mg/dL or mmol/L, and newly added descriptions that help users make better use of Health. For example, blood glucose is now explained with this bit of information - “Glucose–also called blood sugar–is the main sugar found in the blood and the main source of energy for your body.” In the screenshots, you can see the descriptions of other data points - they are a bit more thorough.
After the update to ios 8.2 is complete, it looks like the iPhone will be all set to go together with the Apple Watch. The timepiece is slated to debut in the first quarter of 2015, if everything around its manufacturing process goes as planned.
