Upcoming Samsung Gear S2 gets teased in a new promo video, the focus is on the circular UI
Roughly a week ago, we got our first official gander at Samsung's upcoming smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S2. With a circular display on board and a rather captivating design, the Tizen-powered Gear S2 might easily end up being one of the more enticing wearables Samsung has ever made.
When it was first shown at last week's Unpacked event, we were not quite sure whether the circular bezel around the display will be a navigation ring used to interact with the wearable, but the newest video promo for the device suggest just that.
Bringing forth the "Ready to turn" catchphrase, Samsung's video extensively treats us to the interface of the wearable. With circular icons in tow and an UI that is obviously built around the circular navigation ring, it seems that the Gear S2 could very well try to position itself as one of the main rivals of the Apple Watch.
Some features are also showcased, like the fitness tracking capabilities, several different watchfaces (which might or might not be customizable), chronometer, stopwatch, an S Health app that comes with basic health monitoring features, and a circular app launcher.
While the latest promo video doesn't stress on the design of the wearable, which will probably be featured in another upcoming video, but judging from everything we see, it is made of metal, while the watchbands are most probably made of some kind of rubberized material.
The wearable will become official on September 3 at IFA 2015. What are your impressions of the wearable so far?
