Ubuntu Touch daily builds now based on 13.04
Ubuntu 13.04, (April 2013) codenamed Raring Ringtail, is in beta right now, and scheduled for full release next week on desktops. Ubuntu Touch seems like it has been slightly behind though, and it is just now getting 13.04 as the base for the daily builds of the mobile optimized version of Ubuntu.
The goal is to have Ubuntu Touch for phones ready in time for the release of Ubuntu 13.10 (October 2013), which would lead to Ubuntu tablets being released in time for the holidays, although Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth said not to expect Ubuntu phones on the market until 2014. Ubuntu Touch for tablets is planned to be part of Ubuntu 14.04 (April 2014).
Of course, Shuttleworth had also said that Ubuntu Touch would be ready to be used as a daily driver as of mid-March, and we're still not seeing that level of polish on the platform. So, all of these dates are likely to be very much in flux.
