Twitter's new feature gives you personalized recommendations
If you think about all of the tweets that get sent out in the course of a day, you are bound to miss some that you really would have wanted to see. A new update from Twitter now brings push notifications via direct message that will recommend new users to follow and new tweets to read. You can be notified from the Twitter app you use or via a text message. And if you don't want to be bombarded with suggestions made by an algorithm, you can disable the whole thing.
An experimental Twitter account, @MagicRecs, is what Twitter is using to deliver your recommendations. So far, it sounds like those using the new recommendation service are pleased. It looks like a great time saving feature because after all, who can sit and focus on their Twitter feeds all day? Keep in mind that the recommendations and the tweets sent to you are personalized, so you should find people and messages that are of interest to you.
Twitter is looking to stay on the vanguard of social messaging after filing for an IPO last week. @Magic Recs sounds like a great way to keep current and future members engaged in the service. All you need to do is follow@MagicRecs to get the ball rolling. As of Wednesday morning, 20,700 Twitter users have started following @MagicRecs.
