The slim-bezel, Snapdragon 821-powered ZUK Edge coming December 20th

Thanks in part to the Xiaomi Mi MIX, the tech world has developed something of an affinity to large-screened devices that cover a larger portion of the overall footprint. The ZUK Edge, which is set to combine several other laudable features including dual curves on the display and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 821 SoC, is one that we're naturally looking forward to. Initially rumored to launch last week, a leak image infers that all will be revealed on December 20th.

Over the years, many of our readers have expressed disdain for unsightly, unnecessarily noticeable bezels. Indeed, we'd be lying if we said are not wooed by the impressive screen-to-body ratio of devices like the Mi MIX. While the new ZUK Edge probably won't be quite of the MIX's ilk in this regard, leaks suggest that it will be very easy on the eye and put a sizable chunk of the overall profile to good use.

Allied to the quad-core Snapdragon 821, there will probably be a healthy 4 gigs of RAM at the base level. Those with more demanding digital diets may be treated to a spec'd-out model, set to offer 6 GB of RAM. There may be two variants of the 4-gig model with 32 or 64 GB of on-board storage, while the foremost iteration may see 128 GB of real estate.

The display is set to be a 5.5-inch, 2.5D affair with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. Whilst not especially groundbreaking amid a swirling vortex of quad-HD alternatives, it'll still be sharp and no doubt less of a strain on the purported 3000 mAh battery.

Other reported specs include a main camera with a 13-megapixel resolution, while selfies are to be taken care of by an 8-megapixel sensor. Despite the lack of bezel action on the longer sides, it looks like there'll be enough space at the top for a selfie shooter and earpiece. Beneath the display, meanwhile, should sit a physical home button with baked-in fingerprint-sensing capabilities.

Software-wise, the ZUK Edge is poised to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow off the bat. With a suggested starting price at the equivalent to $390, it's shaping up as a very enticing package from the Lenovo-owned company.

All that remains now is an official announcement, and we'll have all of the confirmed details covered here once it finally takes its bow.
