Temple Run 2 has now been downloaded 20 million times on iOS in four days
Temple Run 2 has launched just four days ago, but that didn’t stop it from climbing on top of the popularity ladder on both iOS, and now the stats are in - the sequel to the endless runner accumulated a whopping 20 million downloads in those four days.
Imangi Studios surprised everyone with the release of Temple Run 2 adding better graphics, a new and more challenging environment as well as added bonuses and powerups.
Temple Run (as well as its sequel) is a free game with no ads and no time limits, instead it monetizes on in-app purchases. It is a little known fact that initially the original game launched as a paid, $0.99 app, and only later the price was slashed to zero.
Now, the in-app purchases have obviously brought much more profit to the developers from Imangi Studios. And the popularity of Temple Run 2 is also proving that free spreads faster and tends to bring in more profits.
The sequel to the Indiana Jones-like endless runner started with 6 million download within the first 24 hours. Still, it will take some time until the second game reaches the 170 million downloads, the original Temple Run has.
