Telus tells us to expect the Apple iPhone 5 up north on October 1st
A leaked document from Canadian carrier Telus tells us about an October 1st launch date for the Apple iPhone 5 up north. The documents, seen by the guys at BGR, includes launch dates for other devices and all seem like solid dates. However, we must take into consideration that historically, Apple has had the iPhone rolled out on a Friday evening and October 1st will fall on a Saturday this year.
As always, it is expected that the Apple iPhone 5 would launch first in the States. However, if there is a change this time, we could see the unit simultaneously launched in both the U.S. and Canada. The guys at BGR say they have seen an internal Telus document that lists the October 1st Apple iPhone 5 launch date for the carrier along with release dates for other models. Because the dates for these other phones match what BGR says it has heard from its sources, it would seem to clinch the validity of the document. As far as a Saturday launch is concerned, one of BGR's tipsters adds that it is the busiest day of the week for mobile retailers and that it is not "unrealistic" to expect a Saturday launch of the Apple iPhone 5.
