Sony promotes the Xperia Z2 by filming a game of river football
Folks in Bourton-on-the-Water, UK, have been playing what they’re calling “river football” for about 100 years. We found out about this thanks to Sony, which recently revealed a video titled “The Xperia Z2 presents the untold story of a river football hero.”
Basically, Sony took the waterproof Xperia Z2 to the river where this interesting game of football (or soccer, if you prefer) is being played, and filmed the action. River football is played the same way as the normal game, but it’s done in the shallow waters of River Windrush - thus everything becomes harder, and moistened.
Mind you, it doesn’t seem like the entire video - seen below - was filmed using Xperia Z2 handsets. There are only a few moments when “Shot on the Xperia Z2 from Sony” appears on the screen, and these scenes certainly don’t look as good as the rest of the clip. Even so, this was obviously a good occasion for Sony to showcase the waterproof abilities of its handset.
The Xperia Z2 is Sony’s current flagship smartphone - but that’s going to change in just a couple of days, when the company will announce the Xperia Z3, alongside the Z3 Compact and Z3 Tablet Compact.
