Sony i1 Honami to be announced in Paris on July 4th?
July 4th is a date usually associated in the U.S. with fireworks. It looks as though that tradition is going to be exported to Paris this year as an invitation from the Japanese OEM shows a sideways image of the Sony i1 Honami, the first cameraphone in a new One Sony series. The invite, which was originally thought to show the side view of the just announced Sony Xperia Z Ultra, shows a time of 9:30 am for the Independence Day unveiling.
On Thursday, we showed you some newly leaked photographs of the Sony i1, which is expected to feature a 20/13MP rear facing snapper with an Exmor RS sensor, G Lens, Cybershot, dual LED and Xenon flash, Mobile BIONZ Image processing and interchangeable lens. Sony will have some competition from the Nokia EOS and its 41MP rear-facing camera, and from the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom.
The phone leaked on Thursday matches the design of the one pictured in the invitation. And the inclusion of the pen in the ad would seem to indicate that the feature on the Sony Xperia Z Ultra which allows users to take notes on the screen using a writing instrument with a 1mm tip or greater, will be offered on the Honami as well.

The fourth of July is coming next Thursday, so for those who have been waiting to see this model, you have less than a week to wait.
