Sony Xperia Z1f screen said to outperform the panel on the Sony Xperia Z1
Just the other day, we told you how the only announced and released version of the Sony Xperia Z1 mini, called the Xperia Z1f, has gone straight to the top of Japan's smartphone sales charts. We also mentioned that those with the device are comparing it favorably to the Apple iPhone 5s. Even though the device has a smaller screen with lower resolution and a smaller capacity battery than the flagship Sony Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z1f  employs the same Snapdragon 800 CPU you'll find powering the Xperia Z1, along with the same 20.7MP snapper.

Still, a recent battery test found that the 2300 mAh cell on the "mini" version of the Z1 outlasted the 3000mAh battery full-sized model. And now comes the piece de resistance. A published report reveals that the 4.3 inch screen on the Sony Xperia Z1f, with a resolution of 720 x 1280, tops the 5 inch glass on the Sony Xperia Z1 with its 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution.

The report, which comes out of the Middle East, states that Sony used a better quality IPS screen on the mini and this shows up with better contrast and display quality on the Xperia Z1f. If buyers find this to be true, just about all the differences in specs between the flagship Sony Xperia Z1 and the Sony Xperia Z1f would be considered a positive for the smaller device.

A series of picture comparisons, published in Vietnam, can be found below. Obviously, the smaller screen belongs to the Sony Xperia Z1f and the larger screen is from the Sony Xperia Z1. It sure looks to us that the smaller screen has much better viewing angles. Judge for yourself. We could see the international version of the Sony Xperia Z1 mini unveiled on January 3rd and this could end up being the most demanded Sony handset ever.
