Sony Xperia Transfer Mobile available via Google Play to let you easily "ditch your iPhone"

Sony today revealed that it updated its old Xperia Transfer app, now calling it Xperia Transfer Mobile. The refreshed application is available globally via Google Play and, according to Sony, one of its main purposes is to “make it astoundingly easy for people to ditch their iPhones in favor of a shiny new Xperia.” Ouch!

The app allows you to quickly transfer data to an Xperia smartphone - obviously not just from an iPhone, but also from other Android handsets. The transfer can be done via Wi-Fi, cable connection, or NFC. If you have an iPhone, you can even transfer apps to your new Xperia. In case some iOS apps aren’t available on Android, Xperia Transfer Mobile will suggest equivalent or similar apps.

The list of supported data that can be transferred thanks to the new application includes: Contacts, Calendar, SMS and MMS, notes, bookmarks, music, photos and videos.
