Sony Xperia P to get ICS update in a couple of weeks
The Sony Xperia P is a pretty sweet smartphone. Really, it is, especially since it has one of the brightest displays you can possibly find on a smartphone nowadays. However, it is still stuck with the aging Android 2.3 Gingerbread, even though Ice Cream Sandwich has been out for many, many months.
Thankfully, that is about to change since the Xperia P will be updated to Android 4.0 in only a few weeks. As mentioned on the Facebook page of Sony Mobile, the new software will start rolling out later this month, between August 19 and 25. And since the Xperia U and the Xperia sola are not much different than the P in terms of hardware, we can safely assume that they are to follow suit sooner than later.
So there you have it, Sony Xperia P owners – the wait is almost over. Expect getting an update notification later this month, or just check for it manually by going to Settings>About phone>Software update if you are really impatient. Just don't be too frustrated if your handset does not get Ice Cream Sandwich right away as these major software updates roll out in batches and usually take a while to complete.
