Sony Xperia Companion is a new Windows tool for managing your Xperia device
Sony recently released a new Windows program that lets owners of Xperia phones and tablets access and manage their device from a PC, via USB. Called Xperia Companion, the new tool seems to be working with most Xperia devices released in the last 2+ years, starting with the Xperia Z3.
Xperia Companion allows you to view, copy, or delete files on your Xperia device, check if there are any software updates available, and reinstall the software (if needed) thanks to a Software repair feature. All in all, the program is a refreshed version of Sony's old PC Companion, though it doesn't seem to be bringing new functionality.
To download Xperia Companion on your Windows PC, go to Sony's global support website (see the source link below), choose your Xperia device, and scroll down to the "Connect my computer" section - there, you'll see a download link for the Companion tool. Note that, in order to be able to run the software, your PC needs to be based on Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, or Windows 10, while featuring at least 2 GB of RAM, 5 GB of free hard disk space, and an Intel Pentium 4 (or equivalent AMD) processor.
