Sony Lavender might be called Xperia C5 Ultra after all
According to recent rumors, Sony is working on a new 5.5-inch Android smartphone that's codenamed Lavender. Last week, we found out that the handset could be launched next month as the Xperia T4 Ultra, but now we're hearing that it may actually have a different name.
@upleaks (usually a reliable source) has it that the new smartphone should be released as the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra. This suggests that we might also see a regular Xperia C5, which should succeed the Xperia C4 (a 5.5-inch selfie-centric handset - seen on the left - that's available since earlier this year).
The Lavender / Xperia C5 Ultra is expected to sport a near bezel-less 1080p display of at least 5.5 inches, and, at launch, it should run Android Lollipop. Reportedly, the handset will offer a 13 MP front-facing camera with LED flash, and a similar rear camera. Other features could include a 64-bit octa-core processor made by MediaTek, and 2 GB of RAM.
At the moment, we don't know if Sony is planning to launch the Lavender / Xperia C5 Ultra globally, or just in select regions. But we'll let you know as soon as we hear more about this.
