Sony C3602 with 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 and 720p screen leaks in benchmarks
In addition to the rumored Odin and Yuga smartphones, there appears to be one more Android device that Sony is currently working on. It is currently known only by its C3602 model name and it is presumably to be positioned in the upper mid-range category, judging by its leaked hardware and software specifications.
What we know about the Sony C3602 is that it sports a screen worthy of having an HD tag attached to it, with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. Yeah, we know that the benchmark mentions a pixel count of only 1196 by 720, but that is because the missing rows are being occupied by on-screen buttons.
The smartphone's CPU is clocked at 1.5GHz, yet we aren't sure what SoC is being used. However, since the GPU being used is the Adreno 225, that indicates the presence of a Snapdragon S4 chip inside the Sony C3602, possibly the MSM8960 or the MSM8260A. Last but not least, it appears that the smartphone will ship with Android 4.0.4 when it is released.
And that is pretty much it for now. We don't know exactly when the Sony C3602 will be announced, or whether it is ever to be released on the market. But since the maker will most likely focus on promoting its current flagship - the Sony Xperia T, this holiday season, our guess is that the C3602 may not come until early 2013.
