We’ve been hearing about big companies like Sony and HTC looking to make a dent in the huge Chinese market and now details about a device that might be the first step for Sony leaked out. The handset in question is the Sony C3 and it is said to be based on a MediaTek chip, a cost-efficient solution.
White-box manufacturers in China are flooding the market with MediaTek-based phones, but they often lack quality finish, and that’s an added value Sony could bring.
It’s all up in the air at this point, but Sony is said to be looking into launching the mysterious Sony C3 with either the quad-core MT6589 processor or the updated 1.5Ghz MT6589T chip.
