Last week, we passed along the word that those using the Acer Iconia Tab A100 and the Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablets would be receiving their Android 4.0 updates on April 27th. Well, we just checked our calendar and it is a couple of days early, but already some owners of the 10.1 inch Tab A500 have received the Ice Cream Sandwich update.
The Acer Iconia Tab A500
If you own the Acer Iconia Tab A500 in the U.S. or Canada, you should check over your tablet to see if the update has been received. Those who were lucky enough to find the update on their tablet say that it installs the Android 4.0.3 build of the OS and the updating process takes about 30 minutes to complete. The only downside is that while Acer's skin is supposed to run over Android 4.0.3, the Acer Ring is not included with the update.
