Some AT&T Nokia Lumia 830 owners find a way to flash the Lumia Denim update on their phone
AT&T never sent out the Lumia Denim update for the Nokia Lumia 830. But there is still hope for those AT&T customer rocking the Windows Phone handset. Apparently, some Lumia 830 users were able to flash the update onto their phones from the Windows Phone Recovery Tool server. The app is used by Windows Phone users to replace a Windows 10 Mobile preview and restore Windows Phone 8.1.

While putting Windows Phone 8.1 back on their Lumia 830, some AT&T customers have been able to successfully load the Lumia Denim update on their device. There is also talk that the Denim update might be required before Windows 10 Mobile can be installed. In that case, we could see AT&T include the Lumia Denim update as part of the Windows 10 Mobile OTA package that will be sent to the carrier's Lumia 830 users.

Lumia Denim allows users to activate Cortana hands-free by saying "Hey Cortana." The update also adds customizable snooze times for your alarm, and brings folders to the Start screen. Lumia Camera 5 is also available with the update, which allows the camera app to open faster. The camera will also be able to employ the Rich Capture (HDR) feature. The Glance screen is updated to include Bing Weather, or Bing Health and Fitness data. And with Word Flow, you can swipe to type.

If you can't wait for the Windows 10 Mobile update, you can try to use the Windows Phone Recovery Tool to flash Lumia Denim on your AT&T Nokia Lumia 830. To start, click here.
