Skype's Android app is updated to allow picture-in-picture on your phone
Skype for Android has received an update that allows you to multitask on your phone, even while being on a video call. Picture-in-picture support has been added to Android handsets after being available on tablets for about a year. Now, even if you are in the middle of a video call, you can head over to another app and continue with the conversation, video and all.
After the update, chats will load faster, especially when opened from a notification. And those using Skype for Android will be able to receive pictures from Skype for iPhone users. Other changes include support for formatted text such as bold, italic and strikethroughs. And the update brings native support for Hindi.
If you haven't received the latest and greatest version of Skype for Android, head over to My apps in the Google Play store. When Skype introduced picture-in-picture last year for Android tablets, it released the video below. Just pretend the tablet is an Android phone, and you can see what the major part of the new update is all about.
