Samsung Gear VR goes on pre-order at €100 in Europe

The Samsung Gear VR has just recently made its debut in the United States, and now it's coming to Europe as well.

The Gear VR comes at a price of $100 stateside, while in Europe it will be priced at €100. This is half the price of the original Gear VR sets that launched in early 2015.  The original version came in two sizes: one specifically made for the S6 and a larger one for the Note 5, while now, one single model fits both (the full list of compatible devices includes the S6, S6 Edge, Note 5 and S6 Edge+).

The Gear VR is now listed for pre-order in the Netherlands and in Germany, and we expect it to soon show up in other Western European markets as well. It lacks the upper head support and is attached via a single band that wraps around your head.

The experience is reportedly fully immersive and very impressive, but the number one issue remains content which is still scarce. Nonetheless, it seems that virtual reality is about to blow up in 2016: Facebook's Oculus Rift is expected to arrive in the beginning of the year and more content will undoubtedly start piling up.
