Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge receive update that adds features to 'Always On Display'
One of our loyal PhoneArena readers has just sent us some screenshots about an 8MB update he has received for his Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. The update, which is also being sent to the Samsung Galaxy S7, enhances the the Always On Display of both models. According to the changelist that he received, the update includes a newly designed calendar to replace the two previous ones that were available. In addition, the Always On Display will now show what music is being played on your phone's music apps.
The small update also makes changes to the clocks on the Always On Display, which will be more customizable. You can also add your signature to the screen in any color or font you choose. If you use an S-View cover or a Keyboard cover, the Always On Display will appear on both.
Worried about the Always On Display eating away at your battery life? With the update, battery consumption is now less than 1% of whole battery life each hour. Samsung did add however, that the battery consumption figures can vary depending on the content.
Thanks for the tip!
