Samsung Galaxy S6 to be unveiled March 1st; curved design hinted at on invitation

We now have a date that you can circle on your calendar pertaining to the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy S6. Invitations have started going out and March 1st is the day that everyone has been waiting for. That means that unlike many manufacturers this year, Samsung will introduce its next flagship model at MWC 2015 in Barcelona. It was during last year's event that Samsung unwrapped the Samsung Galaxy S5. LG and Sony have both decided to introduce their next flagship models this summer instead of next month.

The invitation from Samsung also provided a clue about the Galaxy S6. Right above the words "What's Next," is a curved line that looks to be a silhouette. Remember, Samsung supposedly redesigned its new flagship from scratch with "Operation Zero." On the bottom right of the invitation is the Samsung Unpacked 2015 logo with the March 1st date underneath. We also could see the Samsung Galaxy S Edge introduced at the same time. This would be a version of the next flagship offering a curved glass screen similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to carry a 5-inch or larger screen with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. Under the hood will be the octa-core Exynos 7420/Snapdragon 810 CPU with 3GB of RAM. There should be a 20MP camera with OIS on back, and a 5MP "selfie" snapper on the front. We expect that only the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active will be carrying IP certification against dust and water.

So there it is folks. On March 1st, we will get our first official look at the Samsung Galaxy S6. Start your countdown timer now.
