SamMobile spotted a couple of references in Samsung's own Kies app that confirms that the GT-i9300 model is for the Samsung Galaxy S III. The Kies software, used for syncing, shows two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S III. One is labeled as the Samsung GT-i9300 and other is the Samsung GT-i9300T. The "T" could stand for a different radio frequency used in a different country or by a different carrier.
The Samsung Galaxy S III appears to be the GT-i9300
As far as the image is concerned, both show the Samsung GALAXY Note above the model number as a placeholder until the Korean based manufacturer introduces the Samsung Galaxy S III, expected on May 3rd. There has been speculation that Samsung would be making the Samsung Galaxy S III an incremental update in the same way that the Apple iPhone 4S followed the Apple iPhone 4 with an 8MP camera, dual-core processor and Siri. That same speculation calls for Samsung to use a different name for the phone instead of Samsung Galaxy S III. Pointing in that direction, Samsung's invitation for the May 3rd event where the device is expected to be introduced, called the model "The next Samsung Galaxy" as did sign up pages for Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse, both in the U.K.
