Samsung ATIV S goes on preorder for EUR 550 ($711) SIM-free, priced between HTC 8X and Lumia 920
The only Windows Phone 8 handset that will sport less color-happy looks - the Samsung ATIV S - is now up for preorder in Europe at an online retailer for the cool EUR 549 ($710) SIM-free.
This puts it in between the HTC Windows Phone 8X, which went for EUR 499 on preorder, and the Nokia Lumia 920 flagship, which ranges from EUR 599 in Italy, to EUR 649 in Germany.
Prices in Euro usually directly translate to prices in USD here in America, so it's clear that Windows Phone 8 flagships will be in the ballpark of Android and iOS ones - $600, give or take 50 bucks or so.
These are, of course, the SIM-free prices, and we only now the HTC 8X price with a carrier, since the company said it will cost the usual $199.99 with an AT&T contract that flagships command. What do you think, is that a wise pricing strategy for the new WP8 handsets?
