Report: honor coming to U.S.; announcement to be made during CES?
According to a report published today, the Huawei-owned honor brand is coming to the U.S. This allegedly comes straight from honor president George Zhao. During a party in China that celebrated honor's second anniversary, Zhao hinted that such an announcement will come during next month's CES show in Las Vegas. Interestingly, last month the honor Play 5X received certification in the U.S. from the FCC, Thus, we could assume that this will be one of the models that honor will offer in the states.
The report says that honor will eventually ship to the U.S., and the devices will be made specifically for the stateside market. But to begin with, global models like the honor 7 and the honor 6 Plus will be offered to Americans.
The honor 7 is the brand's current flagship. Unveiled this past summer, the device just might find a home in the U.S. with its 5.2-inch screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The home-grown Kirin 935 chipset is driving the device, carrying an octa-core 2.2GHz CPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of expandable storage. A 20MP camera adorns the back of the unit, while an 8MP front-facing camera shoots selfies and handles video chats. The 3100mAh battery stuffed inside keeps the lights on, and a fingerprint scanner is on board. Android 5.1 comes pre-installed on the unit.

We should be learning much more at CES about honor's expansion into the U.S. This year, the expo runs from January 6th through the 9th. As usual, we will be at the show passing along to you all of the exciting news as it happens.
