Report: Apple to hold mid-September event to unveil the Apple iPhone 6
According to a report published on Wednesday, Apple is planning to hold an event in the middle of September to unveil the Apple iPhone 6. At the same time, there will be more information released about iOS 8. A keynote address will be held during the event, which will take place in the second or third week of September. Previous speculation centered on a September 19th unveiling, a date that was first mentioned by Germany's Deutsche Telekom.
The 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6 is expected to show up at the event. Apple is said to be undecided about whether the larger 5.5 inch version of the iPhone will be ready in time to also make an appearance. According to those familiar with the plans, the 4.7 inch Apple iPhone 6 has been more thoroughly tested than the phablet sized version of the iPhone.
While Apple announced yesterday that it sold 35.2 million units of the Apple iPhone during its fiscal third quarter, Apple CFO Luca Maestri said that the company could have sold more had it not been for the "new product rumors".
