RIM’s BlackBerry 10 devices more likely to launch in March 2013
RIM right now is pretty much in free fall. It’s not rocketing down as fast as many analysts believed, but it’s falling. The savior has long been BlackBerry 10, a platform that has taken longer to develop and land on devices, than expected. What’s worse, now, it might face yet another delay - to March 2013.
“We had hoped for a January launch but now see a March launch as more likely,” Jefferies analyst Peter Misek said.
This is not necessarily a delay in technical terms - March is still in the first quarter and RIM promised us new devices in “early 2013.”
But for those hoping January was the time for the BB10 devices launch, they just might have had their illusions broken. If you think March is too late, you’re not alone, but let’s hope that this extra time would allow the company to deliver a really outstanding platform.
