Philips teases the I908, could be among the slimmest phones on the planet

Philips made the 6-inch, octa-core I928 official through Weibo a few months back, and it would appear that the company is back and ready for more. This time around, the company is teasing the I908 -- a mini version of the I928.

The Philips I908 will also sport a 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor, along with a 5-inch, 1080p display, 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera. Interestingly enough, however, the marketing folks at Philips appear to be suggesting that the I908 will also be extremely thin. Unfortunately, we currently have no exact dimensions to go on, and manufacturer renders are, occasionally, unrepresentative of the real deal, yet we do get a feeling that we're looking at a device that may very well prove to be trespassing on Gionee's 5.5 mm-thick Elife S5.5 territory.

Lastly, from what we gather, Philips seems to be currently focused on China, where smartphone saturation is still at relatively low levels, allowing for entry. This, more than likely, means that the I908 and the I928 will be mainly targeted at folks in the Middle Kingdom, and it's probably unlikely that we'll see these two make it across the border.
