Pebble says that it has big announcement coming at CES
Pebble, maker of the Kickstarter funded smartwatch of the same name, says it will be making a big announcement at CES on January 6th. The announcement will take place at 11am PST which is 2pm in the East. CEO Eric Migicovsky will be making the announcement, and boy, would it look bad for a smartwatch manufacturer's CEO to be running late!
So what's the big announcement? There is some speculation that with the original design about a year old, Pebble is going to be introducing its second generation watch. The company has plenty of competition on the way, and from big names too, like Apple, Sony and LG to name a few.
Last month we told you that Pebble will be opening an app store for consumers later this year, with apps listed under seven categories like Watchfaces, Daily, Remotes, Games, Notifications, Tools and utilities and Sports and fitness. At last year's CES, the company announced a ship date. Through the magic of YouTube, we present that press conference in its entirety for you to revisit so that you can prepare for this year's announcement.
