Nokia says Nokia Lumia 710 and Nokia Lumia 800 to get mobile Wi-Fi hotspot
You might remember that just the other day we pointed out to you that while the lower spec'd Nokia Lumia 610 would have a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot out of the box, the Nokia Lumia 710 and Nokia Lumia 800 did not launch with the feature. While the flagship Nokia Lumia 900 does offer a Wi-Fi hotspot, we did point out that it would only require a software update for the two left out models to be included.
Apparently, that does seem to be the Finnish based manufacturer's plan. On the FAQ section of Nokia's website, it is revealed that the tethering feature will be "coming soon" for both the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 and will take place via a Zune update. In the world of smartphone updates, "soon" can mean anywhere from a day to months to even years. However, in this case we would expect the owners of the Nokia Lumia 710 and Nokia Lumia 800 to be bragging about their mobile Wi-Fi hotspot much sooner than later.
If the tethering capabilities on the update are the same as what the Nokia Lumia 610 and Nokia Lumia 900 are sporting out of the box, users will be able to hook up as many as 5 devices at one time.
