Nokia Smart Camera app is released, doesn't yet work on most Lumias
First the good news: the Nokia Smart Camera app, which was demonstrated during the Lumia 925 announcement, is now available at the Windows Phone marketplace. It brings a handful of cool camera features that can help one take even better photos using their Lumia smartphone. These include the Motion Focus, which adds motion blur to moving objects, and Action Shot, which stitches several frames together to capture a moving object in multiple states. The options to remove moving objects and to change people's faces are also present.
But there's some bad news as well, as much as we wish it wasn't so. Although the Nokia Smart Camera app is available for download, it is made to work only on a smartphone running the Lumia Amber software update. This new software comes out of the box with the Nokia Lumia 925, but it hasn't yet reached the rest of the lineup's members.
So yeah, unless you own a Nokia Lumia 925, you won't be able to give Nokia Smart Camera a try. That will be possible once the Lumia Amber update is released in July, presumably in time for the July 11 press event hosted by Nokia.
