Nokia Lumia 1020 camera tests after the Black update show significant quality improvements
The Lumia 1020 flagship began receiving the Black update from Nokia, and its 41 MP shooter has benefited greatly from the improvements, judging from the tests you see in the slideshow below.

The comparison is between pics taken with Nokia Lumia 1020 on the previous version, and then with the new Black software that is rolling out to Lumias worldwide. The enhanced features include much more accurate color representation, less noise and sharper edges, and aren't all exclusive to the 1020, it seems, as the Black update was reported bringing more accurate colors to the Lumia 925 as well.

The speed of the camera and the shot-to-shot times unfortunately don't move by much, which hints at hardware rather than software limitations that come with the giant module inside the handset. The improvements go towards both the 5 MP automatic mode, and the full-res 38 MP one.
