Next HTC flagship to sport Snapdragon 820 chipset; HTC M10 doesn't exist?
A couple of tweets from tipster @Ricciolo1 reveals that rumors to the contrary, the name of the next HTC flagship model is not the HTC M10. Tweets from ROM developer @LlabTooFeR had said that HTC'snext flagship would be the HTC M10.  One thing that we do know about the next HTC flagship is that according to @Ricciolo1, the Snapdragon 820 chipset will be under the hood. For a long time now, HTC has been mentioned as being among the manufacturers waiting for Qualcomm to start shipping its latest high-end chipset. The Snapdragon 820 was introduced today by Qualcomm.

HTC needs to release a new flagship to make up for the tepid response to the HTC One M9. Originally, CEO CherWang told stockholders this past summer that the company was working on a "Hero" device which many thought would be the HTC One A9. When that device turned out to be a mid-range model, there were some HTC fans who felt a little disappointed. What this has done has put a brighter spotlight on the next HTC flagship.

So to recap, we have a new flagship coming, possibly as soon as the second quarter. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset, and won't be called the HTC M10. Hopefully, more information about this device leaks soon.

Thanks for the tip!
