New split view Google Keyboard available for Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9
If you own one of the Nexus mobile devices that is compatible with the Android M Developer Preview, such as the Nexus 5, Nexus 6 or Nexus 9, you can download the latest iteration of the Google Keyboard app (version 4.0.23004). The updated app is not available in the Google Play Store. A new feature of the updated Google Keyboard allows you to split it into two halves.
If you are using one of the Nexus devices we previously mentioned, you can turn on the split view by going to Settings > Language and Input > Google Keyboard Settings > Advanced > Appearance and layouts > Split Keyboard. While only the specified Nexus devices are able to get the split QWERTY for the moment, hopefully once Android M is released, all phones updated to the new build are given this option.
Check out a couple of images showing the new split Google Keyboard by clicking on the sideshow below.
Thanks for the tip!
