New Samsung tablet, powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset, appears on Geekbench
Samsung has a new tablet in the works according to a Geekbench test run on the SM-T587P. Powering the slate is the Snapdragon 625 SoC with an octa-core 2.02GHz CPU (and the Adreno 506 GPU inside). 2GB of RAM is listed on the test, and Android 6.0.1 is pre-installed. This could be a new version of the low-end Samsung Galaxy Tab E series.
While the Geekbench test doesn't give away as much information as other benchmark tests, the model number is a good clue. The Galaxy Tab E covers model numbers SM-T560, SM-T561 and SM-T567. In addition, the first generation models come with 1.5GB of RAM.
The SM-T587P managed to score 808 on the single-core test and 3180 on the multi-core test. Not exactly results to jump up and down about. Back in July, the same configuration performed better with a single-core score of 903 and a multi-core score of 4207. Hopefully some more information about the tablet surfaces soon.
