New Nokia patent hints at a future Lumia?
It is a new patent that also takes us back in time. During the summer of 2011, a promotional video for Nokia leaked, highlighting the vision of how Nokia and Microsoft would connect people. In that video, we could see a couple handsets running Windows Phone 7. The video was a bit of a fantasy in that those devices were purely conceptual.
What we did not know at the time was that on the same day the video leaked, August 10, 2011, Nokia filed with the US Patent Office for the design of a handset. What did those design drawings look like? Like none other than the device depicted in the video. The patent was just granted on October 16th and the similarities between the patent drawings and the video are unmistakable.
Now the folks at Nokiapoweruser are asking if this design could spawn a new Lumia which might find its way to Verizon or T-Mobile. Maybe a version of the Lumia 9xx? The video renders look pretty classy, so whatever Nokia hammers together, should they make a move with this design, could pass for high-end if the company chooses to.

Take a look at the pictures and the video from last summer and tell us your hopes and dreams should this design make it to market.
