Microsoft Lumia 640 coming to T-Mobile on July 16?
Last night, we showed you a series of four television ads that were produced for the Microsoft Lumia 640. Each of the 15 second spots center on virtual, voice-activated personal assistant Cortana. Earlier Friday, we had told you that pre-paid carrier Cricket had launched the Lumia 640 for a price of $129.99.
On Saturday, a tweet from T-Mobile broke the news that the Lumia 640 would be available via all T-Mobile channels on July 16th. When the device was posted on Microsoft's U.S. website, it listed the device as coming soon with a price for the T-Mobile branded model at $89.
The Microsoft Lumia 640 sports a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. That works out to a pixel density of 294ppi. A Snapdragon 400 SoC drives the device and includes a quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU and the Adreno 305 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of expandable memory. An 8MP camera adorns the back of the phone while a .9MP snapper is on front. The lights are kept on by a 2500mAh battery. Windows Phone 8.1 is pre-installed along with the Lumia Denim update.
We are still awaiting word from AT&T when it will be launching the Lumia 640 and the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. The latter comes with a 5.7-inch display.
