Look at how humungous the Apple iPad Pro/Plus could turn out to be

It is one thing to look at in print, and another thing to actually see in pictures. What we are talking about is the rumored 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro/Plus. Apple has apparently come to the conclusion that it needs to fill a space in its tablet line-up for a larger-screened slate aimed at the business and educational markets. The brass in Cupertino might have come to this realization after watching the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 take off.

Last week, we showed you some cases allegedly produced for the iPad Pro/Plus that were obtained by Sonny Dickson. One of these cases was measured by a German blog at being 307mm x 222mm. That is important because speculation last month had the actual tablet weighing in at 305.7mm x 222.6mm x 7.2mm. So it seems like a pretty good bet that this case was made for Apple's upcoming large-screened slate.

So now that we are making the assumption that this particular accessory is being produced for a 12.9-inch iPad, how would such a device look in comparison with Apple's current flagship tablet? Pictures taken by French blog NWE compare the 9.7-inch Apple iPad Air 2 with the case for the iPad Pro/Plus allowing us to see just how humungous the latter tablet will be.

Other leaks have revealed that the tablet will feature a quad-speaker system and a second port on the side of the slate that could be for a USB-C connector. The Apple iPad Pro/Plus should be unveiled some time later this year.
