Latest speculation about the Sony Xperia Z2 calls for an April release date
Sony has run through a number of high profile, drool inducing, eagerly awaited Android models in the last year. We had the Sony Xperia Z creating a ruckus at CES as it showed the crowd how to take a dunking and still work. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra became the largest screened smartphone on the planet to-date with a 6.4 inch screen, and the Sony Xperia Z1 kicked off a new line of camera-centric phones for Sony with its 20.7MP rear snapper.
Over the last few weeks, we've been passing along speculation about the unannounced Sony Xperia Z2. Originally, the rumors called for an unveiling of the device at CES 2014. But one of our loyal readers told us that Sony was no longer going to introduce flagship models at CES and to expect a March or April introduction of the handset.
That ties in with the latest gossip about the Sony Xperia Z2, now believed to be rolling out to the public in April 2014. We have had conflicting stories about the screen size with the latest speculation calling for a 5.2 inch IGZO and Triluminos display with resolution of 1080 x 1920. Pixel density is expected to be a whopping 506ppi which would surpass the 468ppi on the 4.7 inch HTC One display. The 20.7MP camera on back will feature a Xenon flash and Android 4.4 KitKat will give you a break, pre-installed on the unit. Under the hood we expect to find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 while 3GB of RAM will be on board with a 3200mAh battery to keep the lights on.

Sony is trying to lock down information leaks on its new smartphones, but it might be hard to keep this beast out the public's mind until April.
