LG Optimus G specs revealed as the phone is official
After hearing all about the LG Optimus G smartphone, a model that is the most powerful ever made by LG, we heard how the Korean manufacturer used a lot of vertical integration in the development of the phone. We also got to see what were apparently prototypes of the unit that LG is counting on to compete with other high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy S III. Now that the phone is officially coming to Korea next month as the LG Optimus G, we have the full specs to pass along, and we must warn you that you could find your mind blown.
Let's start with the 4.7 inch screen which will use the in-cell touch technology that the new Apple iPhone is expected to have. It makes for a thinner screen. In addition, the display will be a True HD IPS LCD with an RGB matrix and resolution of 768 x 1280. According to LG, when the display is turned off, the bezel and the body match the screen. The quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 lets quad-core and LTE play together and 2GB of RAM is on board. On back you will find a 13MP camera while a 1.3MP camera graces the front. A 2100mAh battery keeps the wheels spinning and Android 4.0 is installed.
After launching in Korea in September, the next stop is Japan with a release in black or red via NTT Docomo in October or November as the L-01E. A Global launch is in store for later in the year, so those drooling now should be able to pick up the device sometime before the ball drops in Times Square.
