LG Gentle flip phone with Android 5.1 unveiled in Korea
The LG Gentle smartphone has been introduced by LG in Korea today. A phone powered by Android 5.1 might not seem unusual, except that this handset has a rather old form factor and some aged specs. The model is a flip phone that uses a T9 keypad, and has a special dedicated "Q" button that will show the most frequently opened apps.
The touchscreen measures 3.2-inches and offers a resolution of 320 x 480. That works out to a pixel density of 180ppi. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 210 chipset, which features a quad-core 1.1GHz CPU with the Adreno 304 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside with 4GB of expandable internal memory. The Gentle comes with a 5MP rear-facing camera, and a .3MP camera in front for selfies and video chats. A 1700mAh battery keeps the lights on.

In Korea, the phone will launch on July 29th as an exclusive for LG U+, priced at the equivalent of $171 USD. The LG Gentle is LG's third Android flip, and is an entry-level model for those looking to buy a smartphone that won't bust their budget. It also might appeal to those who remember the satisfying feel of closing the phone after a call had ended.
