LG G2 reportedly will receive Android 5.1.1 within the next two months

According to an anonymous insider who works at LG's software development division, Android 5.1.1 will be rolling out to the LG G2 some time during the next two months. The update will not only bring the latest build of Android to the phone, it also will update the UI to LG UX 4.0 and add features currently available on LG's latest flagship model, the LG G4.

While no specific date was mentioned for the update, Android 5.1.1 is expected to start rolling out some time in the next two months. Carrier branded versions will have to wait for testing to be done and some carriers do take longer than others to complete this process.

LG G2 owners have had to watch their phone grow old gracefully while getting replaced by first the LG G3, and then by the LG G4. With this update, the old boy will be rejuvenated, capable of doing things that it couldn't do even when it was younger.
